Cafe Bar Moustache
Welcome to our very first event! Tonight's theme is Mental Health. We're showing five short films from Italy, the USA, Germany, Palestine, and Innsbruck, screened across two blocks, with the "Leben eben" ("Life, Simply") art exhibition by Alina Gschaider and Valentina Furini during the break. Some of the films touch on sensitive topics, including post-traumatic stress disorder and personal experiences from Gaza — feel free to step out at any time, and information on support services will be available on-site. After "Grimey Dreams," filmmaker Raphael Luif will be there in person to answer your questions.

Fiaba is Italian for fairy tale, exit means exactly that. A dreamlike, gripping short film by Lorenzo Giovenga and Giuliano Giacomelli (Italy, 2024) that pulls you straight into a present-day fable.

Thrive
An experimental short film by Jordan Ellis (USA, 2025) about a middle-aged man going through an extremely difficult mental health crisis, based on interviews and research into post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Wordless, but deeply moving.

A documentary interview film by Mo'men Ghanim (Palestine, 2025) about Mohammad, a nurse in Gaza. A heavy, sad story, one that also speaks to resilience.

Strauss im Kopf
A German sci-fi short by Erkan Lüleci about a homeless man who, after a bizarre car accident, is transported into the past and wakes up in a psychiatric institution, shot in a single weekend, on close to no budget.

Grimey Dreams
An experimental parkour film by Raphael Luif, a local Innsbruck parkour enthusiast. The locations are unusual too: garages, a place away from the noise and chaos of the city. Raphi is here in person tonight and will take your questions after the screening.
